Eucharist

Participating in the celebration of the Eucharist (the Mass) is both the source and summit of our faith in Jesus Christ instituted by him at the Last Supper. As a faith community we gather each Sunday to celebrate Eucharist sharing in God’s own banquet and expressing our unity with one another and with the whole Church.

As a sacrifice and a meal the Eucharist is both a sacrifice of praise and of thanksgiving while reminding us of the self-sacrificing service we are called to as Christians.

First Holy Communion

Children usually receive this sacrament when they are in second class in our parish schools. They will prepare at home, in school and in the parish and here in Our Lady Crowned you will be invited to partake in the Do this in Memory preparation programme when as a family you will join with the whole parish community for
Sunday Masses especially focussed on you and your child in the time of preparation to receive this sacrament.

For adults who are participating in the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) receiving the Eucharist will complete their initiation into the Catholic Church.
