Pastoral Team for Funerals
Here in our parish, we have a pastoral team for funerals. It consists of a team of 6 people who have been trained to participate in this ministry. The team’s role is to be with the family in their time of grief, to help and to support them, to listen to their needs and to help them plan the funeral of their loved one. They actively participate in all the rituals of the funeral, but do not replace the priest, and work beside him as they strive to minister God’s love, and compassion to all who suffer such a loss.
